Cinecitta and Stichting Tilburg Pride join forces to highlight the importance of an inclusive society where everyone can be themselves without fear of discrimination or violence. Therefore, there will be a special screening of the multi-award-winning film Close. Prior to the screening, there will be an introduction by Mr. Gay Europe 2023, Tim Küsters.

Leo and Remi, both 13, have been inseparable friends for as long as they can remember. Their friendship is joyful and intense. They spend an endless summer together before starting high school. For the first time, their previously unquestioned friendship begins to raise questions.
Lukas Dhont crafts a tender and heartbreaking film about two boys for whom everything changes at once, initiating a journey toward understanding and acceptance.
With his second film, director Lukas Dhont (Girl, 2018) won the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.

Tilburg Pride Foundation is committed to fostering an inclusive society where everyone can be themselves without fear of discrimination or violence. The LGBTQIA+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and/or asexual) often faces both verbal and physical discrimination. Tilburg Pride actively works towards greater visibility, understanding, and acceptance of this community by raising awareness.
Prior to the film, Mr. Gay Europe 2023, Tim Küsters, will give an introductory talk. He will discuss why the film’s theme is so important. Tim Küsters, 28 years old and from Den Bosch, was elected Mister Gay Europe 2023.
Tim Küsters had the best plans to improve the mental health of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, and other members of the rainbow community. According to Tim, this is urgently needed: “Research shows, for example, that gays and transgenders think about suicide more often than the rest of the population.
