Tilburg-based singer/songwriter Jacques Mees has often been called the Dutch Bob Dylan. In 2010, he released a Dylan tribute titled Shooting Star. This EP, featuring six songs by His Bobness, showcases Mees’ admiration for Dylan and highlights his voice’s remarkable resemblance.

Mees has performed for international audiences for many years, both as an original singer-songwriter and as a popular Bob Dylan Tribute Artist. Since the 1980s, he has toured throughout Europe, opening for acts such as Rick Danko (The Band) and Kevin Ayers. In 2011, he toured Europe to promote his Bob Dylan Tribute album Shooting Star. Jacques Mees is even mentioned in the ABC Dylan Book by music journalist Bert van de Kamp. Over the past two years, Mees has released an album, a mini-album, and four singles.

Filmvertoning A Complete Unknown

The film A Complete Unknown is set in the influential music scene of early 1960s New York and follows the rise of 19-year-old musician Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet).

The nineteen-year-old Dylan moves from Minnesota to New York City, where he pursues a music career and quickly becomes a global sensation. With just a few dollars in his pocket, he rises to worldwide fame within three years. Armed with his electric guitar and immense talent, he is driven to change the course of American music. As he builds close relationships, his fame grows, but so do his restlessness and rebellion.
