The movie
Armand
Armand is the feature film debut of Norwegian director and screenwriter Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel (also the grandson of Liv Ullmann and Ingmar Bergman).
Description
Shortly before the summer holidays, Armand is accused of exhibiting inappropriate behavior toward his friend Jon. Armand's mother (Renate Reinsve) and Jon's parents are called in for a meeting at school. No one knows exactly what happened, and together with the school staff, they attempt to uncover the truth. The tension is palpable, and it soon becomes clear how easily facts can be manipulated. But is this really still about the children?
Armand premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard program. There, director Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel won the prestigious Caméra d’Or for Best Debut Feature.
