Set in Budapest in 1951 and based on real events, Academy Award-winning director Kristóf Deák’s—he won the Best Short Oscar in 2017 for ‘Sing’—chilling, surreal tale sees the secret police knock on the door of a typical family. However, rather than arrest them, as we expect them to, the police move in and confine the family members to their own home without a word of explanation. Anyone unlucky enough to knock at the family’s door is summarily confined as well. The days pass, the situation becomes more and more absurd, and secrets, lies, and paranoia begin to infect the growing number of inmates in the apartment. Although they try to relieve the tension with humour, fear overwhelms them and they slowly but surely start to suspect each other…
