Description

After his remake of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ garnered $350 million in global box-office, Kenneth Branagh returns as director and star of yet another Agatha Christie remake. Branagh is, of course, the walrus-moustached Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, invited aboard a luxury cruise along the Nile by a rich newlywed (Gal Gadot), who fears some nefarious shenanigans are afoot. Sure enough, a murder occurs and Poirot steps forward to solve the case. What follows is a sinister tale of obsessive love and its killer consequences, set amidst an epic landscape of desert and the pyramids of Egypt (with Morocco standing in for the land of the pharaohs). With Annette Bening, Sophie Okonedo, Armie Hammer, Letitia Wright, and Rose Leslie numbering among the exquisitely dressed travellers, the film provides both sophistication and enough shocking twists to keep you glued to your seat right up to the final denouement
