Based on a true story, ‘Fly Me Away’ (the English title) is a heartwarming comedy about a special friendship that forever changes the lives of a 12-year-old boy and a 25-year-old entitled party animal of a man. Life has always been a laugh a minute for Thomas (Victor Belmondo, grandson of Jean-Paul), who has sashayed from one party to the next since he came of age. For his father, the heart surgeon Dr. Reinhard (Gérard Lanvin), enough is enough. Threatening to cut Thomas off completely, he forces the man-child to take care of one of his young patients. Young Marcus lives with his mother and no one else, and has suffered from serious heart disease since birth. His life consists of going to school and regular hospitalizations, and little else. Victor and Marcus—an odd couple in every sense of the phrase given their wildly divergent lives—soon develop a unique friendship that sees both of them widening their horizons and experiencing life anew.
