"A Real Pain" is a 2024 buddy road comedy-drama film written, directed by, and starring Jesse Eisenberg. The story follows two Jewish American cousins, David (played by Eisenberg) and Benji (Kieran Culkin), who embark on a journey to Poland to honor their late grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. David is a high-strung, responsible family man, while Benji is a free-spirited and unpredictable individual. Their contrasting personalities lead to both humorous and poignant moments as they navigate their shared heritage and personal differences. Throughout their travels, David and Benji confront their family's history, visit significant sites such as the Majdanek concentration camp, and grapple with generational trauma. The film balances humor and emotional depth, exploring themes of grief, identity, and the complexities of family relationships.

"A Real Pain" received critical acclaim for its performances and storytelling. Kieran Culkin's portrayal of Benji was particularly lauded, earning him the Best Supporting Actor award at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards.
