Description

The 70s flower power classic Hair is a celebration of freedom, love, and the human spirit. A film that sparked much controversy, it stands as a powerful tribute to the spirit of the 1960s. Brilliantly reimagined by Oscar-winning director Milos Forman and screenwriter Michael Weller (Ragtime), this vibrant film adaptation of the Broadway phenomenon ranks among the greatest movie musicals of all time.

In Hair, John Savage stars as Claude, a quiet young man from the Midwest who befriends a group of New York hippies. They protest the Vietnam War and rebel against the suffocating grip of society. The group fights for peace, love, and above all, total freedom. But with war looming over them, the question remains whether their dream can truly become reality.

The film features the most iconic songs from the original stage production, including the smash hits Aquarius (“Aquarius! Aquarius!”), Good Morning Starshine (“gliddy glub gloopy – nibby nabby noopy”), and Let the Sunshine In (“that’s me, that’s me, that’s me”).
