No Other Land

No Other Land follows Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta in the West Bank, who has been fighting against the mass displacement of his community by the Israeli authorities since his youth. He documents the destruction of villages in his region, where Israeli soldiers gradually demolish homes and expel residents. At one point, he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist, and an unlikely friendship develops between them. Although Yuval supports Basel in his efforts, their bond is put under strain by the vast inequality: Basel lives under military occupation, while Yuval lives freely and without restrictions. No Other Land, created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective consisting of Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal & Rachel Szor, serves as an act of creative resistance and strives for justice in the ongoing conflict. The documentary premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Panorama Dokumente Audience Award and the Berlinale Documentary Award. The film has since been showcased at several international festivals and has received numerous awards.
