TIAFF 2025: Lewerentz Divine Darkness

Sigurd Lewerentz is one of the most famous Swedish architects and is internationally regarded as a master of his craft. His unique solutions were decades ahead of their time. His approach was uncompromising. In his designs, he played with darkness and light, much like Caravaggio did in painting. Lewerentz refused to be filmed or interviewed. However, in an old cellar in Lund, an unknown treasure lies hidden: film reels and audio tapes recorded by architect Bernt Nyberg with Lewerentz during his final years. This marks the beginning of a cultural-historical journey, where the stylistic traces of Lewerentz in Scandinavian architecture become tangible.
