On August 9th, 1963 Whitney Houston saw the daylight. She would turn 55 years old this year. Unfortunately she was found dead in her bathtub on February 11th, 2012. This might have been the result of a heart attack from medical problems and the use of drugs. She only turned 48.
As an hommage we screen the documentary WHITNEY from Oscarwinner Keven MacDonald (One day in September). He is know for The Last king in Scotland, Marley, Touching, The Void.
It is the first Whitney Houston-documentary that has officialy been approved by the heirs. The documentary contains never before shown footage of Houston, exclusive demo-recordings, rare performances and interviews.
With the original material and archive footage MacDonald gives a unique look into her life, supported by interviews with not only the family of Whitney, but also different people who surrounded her during her career.
Before the screening of the documentary we will treat our guest with a LIVE PREFORMANCE of two talented students; Annemiek Leemans (Loon op Zand) and Thomas Vergouwen (Etten-Leur).
Annemiek Leemans, vocalist, studies vocals at the ArtEZ Popacademy & MediaMusic in Enschede and Thomas Vergouwen, pianist/bass player is a student of the Rockacademy in Tilburg. Outside school they have been preforming a lot.
