The Buenos Aires subway stop Puan is close to the School of Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires, the setting for writer-director duo María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat’s funny, serious, political, playful, and, yes, philosophical dramatic comedy. When the legendary head of the philosophy department drops dead while jogging, charismatic prof Marce (Marcelo Subiotto, winner of the Best Actor award at the San Sebastián festival) seems the natural choice to succeed him – except Marce hates playing school politics. Then Marce faces the return from Germany of a nemesis of sorts (Leonardo Sbaraglia), a narcissistic, sexy, philosophy superstar (he’s dating a famous movie actress) with designs on the job...
