Description

In the fall of 1997, Ellen (Lene Maria Christensen, ‘The Legacy’) and her husband Vagn (Anders W. Berthelsen) take Ellen’s sister, Inger (Sofie Gråbøl, ‘The Killing’), on a bus trip to Paris. When Inger announces to her fellow travellers that she is struggling with mental health issues, things get complicated, as the sisters are faced with pity from some and downright discrimination from others. Upon arrival in Paris, it soon becomes clear that Inger has a hidden agenda concerning a figure from her past, ultimately involving the entire group in her hunt for answers… ‘Rose’ is a heartwarming, feel-good drama from director Niels Arden Oplev (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’). The film scored highly with the audience during the last edition of the Film By The Sea festival in September and was a huge box-office success in Denmark earlier this year.
