Description
Kinky Boots is a 2006 British comedy on which a Broadway musical is based. The cheeky feel-good musical with music by pop star Cyndi Lauper could be seen in Dutch theaters until 2020.
In the film we follow Charlie Price (Joel Edgerton), who takes over the family business, a shoe factory in Northampton, after the death of his father. He is not interested in shoes, and the factory is in such dire financial straits that he has to lay off 15 workers. But a fortuitous encounter with a drag queen (Chiwetel Ejiofor) inspires Charlie to save the factory from closure by producing erotic footwear, much to the workers' chagrin.
