Les cinq diables (English subtitled)

Vicky (newcomer Sally Dramé, a revelation), a wayward girl who is bullied a lot at school, has a magical talent: she has an extraordinary sense of smell and can not only recognize but also reproduce every scent she smells. Her room is full of glass jars in which she keeps her scent collection. She is most proud of the jars in which she has secretly stored the scent of her mother, Joanne (Adèle Exarchopoulos). Vicky idolizes Joanne, and finds it difficult that she has to share her with others, such as her father. Things get even worse when her father's sister Julia (Swala Emati ) suddenly turns up after years of absence. Vicky also creates a scent for Julia, one so strong that it transports Vicky to magical memories that shed light on the secrets of her village, her family and her own existence. Les cinq diables is a thrilling and mysterious drama by Léa Mysius, who shot to prominence with her debut, ‘Ava’. Like her previous film did in 2017, ‘Les cinq diables’ had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, earlier this year.
