Omschrijving
A film from Iran unlike any you have seen before, Shahab Fotouhi’s sociological snapshot of modern Tehran unfolds over a week and provides a completely unique perspective by focusing on the youth of the city and how they are playing by their own rules – and upending the status quo... Mother Sima (Leila Rashidi) is preparing to leave her husband while daughter Minoo (Yas Farkhondeh) begins a relationship of sorts with Keyvan, whom she meets at a stoplight. As the marriage of two people from a defeated generation comes to an end, a young romance begins to emerge in a generation that is discovering the city and its political realities for the first time.
‘A delightful, surprising portrait of modern Iran... While not overtly confrontational, the film is thoroughly political in the way it presents Tehran in its leisurely moments, including a minor queer character discussing his love life. This languid, multifaceted portrait of the city... adds to the many reasons Fotouhi’s approach feels so revitalizing.’ – Siddhant Adlakha, Variety
