The Wicker Man, one of the most iconic horror films ever, will be shown at Cinecitta on October 31 during Halloween. The Wicker Man was a modest success 50 years ago upon its release in 1973. But the film gained cult status after several renowned film magazines labeled it the best horror film of all time.
Police Inspector Howie of the Western Highland Police travels to a small Scottish island to investigate the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl. Once there, he is surprised that the villagers do not seem to be concerned with the disappearance at all. It also appears that there is a mysterious attitude to life that includes separate rituals, nature worship, free sex and witchcraft. What starts as a routine investigation slowly turns into a terrifying nightmare for Howie.
The Wicker Man: The Final Cut, which will debut on Halloween on October 31, is a 4K restoration of the classic horror film.
