Noomi Rapace (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) and Hilmir Snær Gudnason are brooding, melancholy farmers in a mist-enshrouded corner of Iceland, far from any civilizing influence. One day, one of their ewes gives birth to a lamb that is a strange hybrid creature—which the couple promptly adopt as their own child.
