Description
Come to Cinecitta on Wednesday, September 11, 7:00 PM for an inspiring evening where we show the historical film No. The film offers an in-depth insight into the power of marketing and communication in political campaigns and the struggle for democracy. The evening starts with an introduction to outline the context of the film, followed by an after-dinner drink where there is room for discussion and reflection.
About the movie No
After 15 years of military rule and under international pressure, the Chilean government decides to hold a referendum with the options “Yes” and “No”. A “Yes” vote would see Augusto Pinochet remain in power for another 8 years, while a “No” vote would lead to presidential and parliamentary elections.
René Saavedra, a successful advertising executive, is approached by the No campaign. Drawn by the marketing challenge and his own disgust for Pinochet's tyranny, Saavedra and his team devise a daring plan to win the elections and free their country from oppression.
