‘Supereroi’ tells the love story of Anna (Jasmine Trinca) and Marco (Alessandro Borghi), who are opposites in almost every way. She is an impulsive, outgoing cartoonist; he is a physics professor convinced that everything can be reduced to a scientific explanation. In their relationship, tenderness and fights, lies and affection, and secrets and deceit alternate. The film—and the comic Anna draws and writes—suggests you need superpowers to love another for the rest of your life, something Anna and Marco know all too well. Director Paolo Genovese (‘Perfetti sconosciuti’) alternates between two different points in the couple’s turbulent relationship to disarming effect.
‘The real pride of the film is the duo of main actors: Jasmine Trinca, award-winning interpreter who never denies herself, and Alessandro Borghi, one of the most talented Italian actors of the 21st century. The refinement of their interpretations, favoured by an evident alchemy between the two, gives the film that sweetness it needs.’—Saverio Picarelli, L’occhio del cineasta
