Supernova

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci are in absolutely sparkling form as sixty-something couple Sam and Tusker, respectively, the former an ex-musician and the latter a novelist suffering from increasing dementia. In what is clearly going to be their last trip together, they tour the English countryside in a camper van. From this humble outline, writer-director Harry Macqueen has fashioned a profoundly moving drama about love and loss that speaks volumes about the ways in which people attempt to come to terms with the inevitable. And Firth and Tucci really are at the top of their game here; their rapport is a beautiful thing to behold.
