Description

In the year 2000, Lukas Moodysson released his film Together. The film immediately became a great success at many film festivals worldwide. Together is about a communal house called "Together," the home base for radical hippie youth who dream of building a socialist way of life. The film opens in 1975 with two little children joyfully exclaiming that Franco is dead. It typifies the atmosphere in the Tillsammans commune where all sorts of peculiar characters engage in political whirlwind discussions, casual sex, and witty drugs. Moodysson drew from his own memories for the film. He was the curious neighbor boy who longed for the vibrant community. In Together, he looks at the era with a satirical, but also sympathetic, perspective in which everything was truly viewed through a politically colored lens. Even Pippi Longstocking has to succumb to it. Two macrobiotics argue that the children's book is 'capitalistic' literature, as the materialistic Pippi is always looking for gold coins and other items. ticket sales
